The old Fairworld cinema on Raby Rd. sadly closed down in the early eighties. Without out a doubt the coolest building in town. Sadly it was demolished at the start of the year.

Looking east down Church St. Note that the old Dovecot is now being converted (probably to another winebar).

Christ Church after being tarted up and converted to an art gallery and ace lookout tower.

The old Customs House down the marina. Now tarted up as part of the renaissance and used as flats.

The old Wesley Chapel after its conversion to a drinking parlour and fitness club. Religion, drinking and health; surely a contradiction here ? Not in the big H.

Looking west from Christ Church towards Hart Village and Elwick. The Wesley and the Mail Office are in the foreground.

"Oh Buoy" ! Another Hartlepool Borough Council brain wave. The local residents of Dyke House were less than impressed and decided to decorate it in their own inimitable style.

Looking North from Christ Church towards the marina. "Hartlepool, a marina and much much more" said the sign.

The old  tram shed that once lived on Clarence Road but was moved to the Gray Art Gallery and Museum when the bus depot was demolished and relocated at the bottom of Church St.

The Cameron's Brewery located is Stockton Road. The source of many a hangover and sloppy arse.

The Town Hall down on Raby Road. Hosts live bands and the occasional pantomime.

Hartlepool's immaculately kept Train Station. Who said privatisation would be good for the railways. Many a visitors first view of the Big H.

A shot across Middleton Bay on a particulary sunny day.

A very wide panoramic shot of Hartlepool United's football pitch, the Victoria Ground  that I sneaked through a hole in the fence.

The Victoria Ground pictured from Clarence Road. The scene of many a relegation battle

The war memorial on Victoria Road opposite the Civic Centre.

Looking down Church St. from the top of Christ Church Tower.

Looking South (spit) from Christ Church towards Seaton Carew . You can see the Jackson's on Tower St. from here.

The Great Road of the North as seen from Christ Church tower. You can see my 'ouse from 'ere as well as the footie ground with a pair of binoculars.

My favourite pub, the Tap and Spile pictured on a Sunday morning. Note the pool of piss outside. The Tap is situated in Church St.
The Heugh
The Heugh Breakwater on the Headland pictured from the paddling pool.

A well 'ard pub up the Headland looking towards the Borough Hall.

The Heugh Battery; where we showed the jerries what for. Now converted to a public lavatory.

The Powlett (or the 'owlett until they recently put the P back into the name after it fell off).

A dramatic vista across Seaton's Golden Sands towards the Steel Works at Redcar.

A view across the sands at the Headland from the pilot pier before it was all dredged away.

The Dovecot in Church St is being restored to its former glory. I think it is going to be a wine bar and gym.

Originally sited in the Burn Valey, but moved to the Gray Art Gallery after public outcry

To celebrate the completion of the renaissance, we had a all day piss up in Church St called Sunday Funday. All of Church St was decorated as above

A view onto the marina with some old gadgy doing some knitting

The old site of the dog track and Fairworld Cinema. Now cleared and primed to be a bowling alley and cinema.

Camerons Brewery, Home of Strongarm and the squirts after a night on Ruby Red

The new dockgate at Middleton dock. Access is now through Middleton Harbour.

Looking across to the Headland from Middleton Pier

St Hildas Chruch and the Headland from Middleton

The fishermans huts overlooking the harbour at Middleton

The old baptist church on Tower Street which is being converted to a recording studio to replace the one at Durham St. on the Headland

Middleton Beach and the old yacht club. Unfortunately the rennaisance doesnt stretch to tidying up the beaches.

Looking along Church St from Buffs Social Club and the king of the pubs, the mighty Tap and Spile

Looking across the marina from the old coal dock where the Warrior was berthed.

Looking back the deep water berth from the pier at Middleton

The war memorial from the old Asda skateboard ramp.

The old cinema and Stranton bingo hall. Now closed down and up for sale.

The transporter at Port Clarence. A portal to the Big H.

One of the few old red brick buildings left in the town down by the back of Burbank street.

Bev ponders the meaning of life one morning at Middleton whilst walking off a hangover.

The excellent Lister St school shortly before being completely demolished. Seat of educational excellence (like I went there)

Morning glow from Middleton overlooking the pilot pier.

Sunrise from Middleton beach. The most beautiful sight in town

The old fairworld cinema being demolished for the leisure park that never was.

Hartlepool United Footie Club with the supporters club in the foreground

Wow they actually managed to open a cinema and a pizza hut after threatening to do it for years
